This is a fun, safe place for writers to put their creative minds to use.
I wanted a way to be able to practice writing and develop my style. I also wanted to get past the fear of putting my work out there for everyone to read. Thus, Photo Tales was born.
Here’s how it works:
The first Thursday of every month, I will post a photo along with my story. The story is a direct interpretation of the photo. If you feel inspired, you can also write your interpretation of the photo. I’d love to see the stories you come up with! If you choose to do so, post your Photo Tale – crediting the photo to me – on your blog and link it back to me so I can read it! I truly believe that we can learn from each other’s writing and seeing other interpretations of the photo would be fascinating!
- Must be under 2,500 words.
- Does not have to be a short story. It can be a snippet of a story: beginning, middle, or end. (It can be a full story if you’d like it to be.) I just want you to be creative and write about what speaks to you from the photo.
- Have fun! This is a way to spark your writing style or possibly get over writer’s block. Writing books can be very taxing and sometimes you need to just take a breather and write something else in order to get those creative juices flowing again.
That’s it! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away!
